Winter in Lexington, KY can shift quickly from mild cold to icy roads and frost-covered mornings. Preparing your INFINITI for these conditions ensures your vehicle remains safe, comfortable, and dependable throughout the colder months. With a few essential steps, you can protect key components of your luxury vehicle and enjoy a smooth driving experience all winter long. Why INFINITI Winterization Is Crucial Cold temperatures affect multiple systems in your vehicle, from tire pressure to battery performance. Fluids can thicken, traction can decrease, and your engine may work harder than usual. Proper INFINITI winterization helps preserve performance and protects components that are particularly sensitive to low temperatures. For drivers across Lexington—where conditions can range from chilly rain to occasional heavy snow—staying ahead of winter maintenance keeps your INFINITI ready for anything the season brings. more Essential Steps for INFINITI Winterization Inspect and Upgrade Your Tires Your tires are the foundation of winter safety. Start by checking tread depth, sidewall condition, and overall wear. Cold weather naturally lowers tire pressure, so monitor it regularly to maintain proper handling and efficiency. If you frequently drive in icy or snowy areas, switching to winter tires can significantly improve grip and braking performance. Winter tires are engineered with rubber compounds and tread patterns that stay flexible in freezing temperatures, offering better control on slick roads. Routine tire rotations—such as those provided through INFINITI Premium Care—help promote even wear and maximize winter traction. Test Your Battery and Electrical Systems Batteries lose strength as temperatures drop, and a weak battery is one of the most common causes of winter breakdowns. Before cold weather settles in, have your INFINITI’s battery tested to confirm it’s holding a strong charge. It’s also a good time to inspect electrical components such as exterior lights, defrosters, and heated mirrors. These features are essential for visibility during frosty mornings and early winter sunsets. Technicians at INFINITI of Lexington can test your battery and ensure all electrical systems are prepared for the season. Refill and Replace Fluids Several fluids become less effective in cold weather. During your winterization service, make sure to: Refill or replace engine oil with the grade recommended for cold temperatures Check antifreeze levels to maintain proper engine protection Use winter-rated windshield washer fluid to prevent freezing Inspect brake fluid to maintain safe, consistent stopping power INFINITI Premium Care includes routine oil changes that make staying on top of seasonal maintenance simple and convenient. INFINITI Cold Weather Tips for Safe Driving Heat and De-Ice with Ease INFINITI models feature advanced climate control systems designed to warm the cabin efficiently. Allowing your SUV or sedan a few minutes to warm up helps maintain comfort and supports optimal engine performance. Use your vehicle’s heated mirrors, defrosters, and available windshield de-icing features to clear frost before driving. This improves visibility and prevents ice buildup while on the road. Pack a Winter Emergency Kit Even with proper preparation, winter can be unpredictable. Keep an emergency kit in your INFINITI stocked with essentials like a blanket, gloves, a flashlight, jumper cables, an ice scraper, and a small first-aid kit. These items provide peace of mind if unexpected delays or weather-related situations occur. Take Advantage of INFINITI Premium Features Many INFINITI models—including the QX60 and QX80—offer Intelligent AWD, which enhances traction by distributing power between the front and rear wheels as conditions change. This helps maintain stability on wet, icy, or uneven surfaces. Driver-assist technologies such as Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Warning, and Lane Departure Warning also support safer travel by improving awareness during challenging winter conditions. Prepare Your INFINITI for Winter in Lexington, KY Winterizing your INFINITI is one of the best ways to ensure safe, reliable driving throughout the season. With proper maintenance and a few thoughtful preparations, your vehicle can handle freezing temperatures, slick roads, and the unpredictable winter climate of Lexington, KY. Schedule your INFINITI winter service with INFINITI of Lexington and enjoy confidence behind the wheel all season long.

Your INFINITI is designed to deliver an impressive performance, but to stay in prime condition, it will need a bit of TLC from time to time. Regular diagnostic testing at your local INFINITI dealer will ensure all systems continue to operate smoothly, and any minor issues are caught early. Your INFINITI car is a sophisticated piece of engineering that is fitted with advanced technology, including computer systems and sensors. The computer receives data from the sensors, which allow it to monitor performance, safety, and emissions, and make changes to allow the car to operate at its best. Even small changes will be picked up by the sensors and then logged within the computer system with a corresponding error code. Running diagnostics means using specialized equipment to carry out a digital analysis. By scanning the system for error codes, diagnostic checks can identify problems very early before they become apparent. Sometimes diagnostics are needed because of a warning light or error code showing on the dashboard. However, it is also good practice to run diagnostics routinely to check for any issues that haven't yet been noticed in everyday driving. more What Problems Can Be Identified By Diagnostic Checks? The diagnostic scanner will be connected to your INFINITI to check for any error codes. Some of the problems that can be identified by diagnostics include: Engine performance Braking system Battery and charging system Catalytic converter Transmission Sensor errors Airbags Corroded or shorted wiring Once the error codes have been detected by the scanning equipment, they can be cross-checked against the database for your INFINITI model to find out what they explicitly relate to. In some cases, error codes are generated by dirty sensors, but it may also indicate a repair is required. The professional technicians at your dealership are trained on diagnostics and will be able to tell you what's needed. Benefits of Routine Diagnostic Tests Diagnostics are an excellent tool for when something is wrong with your car, but they really excel as part of a preventative maintenance schedule. By performing diagnostics routinely, it's possible to catch problems before they escalate and cause a complete system failure. This helps to avoid expensive repairs and damage to other parts of the engine or systems. It can also extend the longevity of the car, saving money in the longer term. If your car isn't running efficiently, you may burn more fuel or emissions may be higher. Correcting any minor problems could make your INFINITI more economical to run, as well as protecting the environment. Visit Your Local INFINITI Dealer for a Full Range of Services Your local dealership can run diagnostic tests either as an emergency or as part of your overall maintenance schedule, as well as carry out any repairs required. They can also update your software to ensure you get the most accurate results. Our team of highly trained technicians can help keep your car in prime condition all year round. As an INFINITI driver, you enjoy wonderfully precise and responsive steering, cornering with confidence, and always fully in control of your car. You wouldn't want poor tire alignment to diminish this flawless handling. Along with regular alignment checks at your local INFINITI dealership, pay heed to the following warning signs if they ever occur. 6 Signs Your INFINITI Needs a Tire Alignment Increased Road Noise and Roughness The main cause of misaligned tires is continuous small knocks against obstacles such as curbs, potholes, speed bumps, rocks, parking stanchions, and even rough patches of the road. Your INFINITI's usual blissful quiet and smoothness is created in part by perfectly aligned wheels. If your wheels start to become slightly crooked as a result of all these bumps, you'll feel more vibrations and hear more road noise. more Slight Veering to the Left or Right Naturally, your car goes in the direction the tires are pointed. If one or more of your wheels starts becomes angled marginally to one side, your entire car will veer in that direction. This is quite alarming to experience and should prompt an immediate realignment. Steering Feels Looser and Less Accurate With misaligned tires, the connection between the tires and the steering column is worsened. As a result, your handling might feel less precise with more loose play when you turn the steering wheel. The Steering Wheel Seems Off-Center As crooked tires strain the axles and steering column, it's possible for the steering wheel to be pushed into an off-center position. This makes it harder to drive straight and significantly reduces the control you have over your car. Your Tires Are Wearing Out Rapidly When checking your tires for air pressure and damage, study the treads for signs of uneven wear. If you find yourself replacing worn-out tires quite frequently, poor wheel alignment could be to blame. Your Tires Are Squealing Noisily When not perfectly straight, tires can become quite noisy, squealing when you corner. So if turning has become loud and less smooth, the fault probably lies with the alignment of your tires. Book Routine Alignment Checks at Your INFINITI Dealership You may not need to have your tires realigned more than every one or two years. However, you never know when one of your wheels might have become slightly crooked, so it's advisable to have your alignment measured every six months. This entails advanced machinery that connects to the wheel so a computer can measure the angles with meticulous precision. If your tires do require alignment, the process is quite straightforward and rarely takes more than an hour for all four wheels. Check your alignment today at INFINITI Of Lexington in Lexington, KY. Our experienced technicians specialize in INFINITI models and can keep your luxury car in tip-top shape with prompt, careful maintenance.

Many car buyers who visit an INFINITI dealership are not aware of the benefits of leasing as compared to buying a new vehicle. The leasing benefits are many, including lower monthly payments and the ability to drive a new car more frequently. Simply put, leasing is a great way to experience the performance and value that driving an INFINITI offers. 1. Lower Down Payment Down payments for vehicle purchases can run as high as 20%, but with a lease, you will pay little to nothing up front. Typically, you will just pay the first month's payment and some title, registration and acquisition fees. That's it. more 2. Lower Monthly Payments A great advantage to leasing is that the lease agreements tend to have lower monthly payments than financed purchases. This allows you to free up money in your budget to upgrade to a more desirable model. For example, you may be looking at the lineup for the INFINITI QX80 SUV. Leasing may allow you to move up from the base Pure 4WD QX80 to the more luxurious LUXE 4WD QX80 without impacting your monthly budget. 3. Drive a New Car Every Few Years Hassle Free Car leases usually last from 24 to 48 months, with the option to start a new lease with a new car at the end of the lease period. This allows you to drive a new car with all the new technology and safety features every few years. Additionally, a new car will typically have improved performance metrics and better gas mileage compared to previous models. This makes leasing a smart choice for the driver who wants the latest tech and performance from their vehicle. 4. You Don't Have to Worry About Reselling Your Car For those who do not want to commit to ownership of a vehicle and the hassles that come with maintaining it and reselling it, leasing is the best option. At the end of your lease, you simply return your car and move on to your next vehicle. There is no hassle in trying to resell it or negotiate a trade-in. 5. Warranty Coverage and Maintenance Most leases come with a manufacturer's warranty that covers maintenance and repairs for the duration of the lease. This can reduce your overall expenses and provide peace of mind for the time you are leasing the car. For example, in the case of a luxury SUV, maintenance can be costly, but leasing it can alleviate those cost worries. So, come and explore the INFINITI lineup of cars and SUVs, and find out how leasing can put you in a new car today. Contact us at INFINITI of Lexington, KY to explore your leasing options.
